Textured Light Filter for Soft Daylight and Privacy

The Metro Light Filtering Roman Blind provides a subtle and elegant way to filter light into your home while maintaining privacy. This blind is made from 100% polyester, ensuring durability and longevity. It is PVC free, lead free, and has a light fastness rating of 6 on the Blue Scale, offering long lasting colour retention. Tested to ISO 105 B02:2014, it ensures resistance to wear and tear, with a nominal weight of 285gsm and thickness of 0.55mm. This blind also complies with the Building Code of Australia requirements for Class 2 to 9 (a) buildings, making it suitable for a variety of applications. Furthermore, it is accredited with Greenguard Gold certification, making it a safe choice for sensitive environments like schools and healthcare facilities. The fabric has been tested for air quality under US EPA standards, ensuring low VOC emissions, enhancing its suitability for indoor use.

Please note: The fabric is 100% blockout, but roman blinds allow some light through stitching, back battens, and edges since they sit slightly off the wall.

There are 4 ways you can control the way your roman blinds open and close. Just select your preferred method of control when you’re customising your roman blind.

  1. Cord and cleat: This is the most common and traditional way of controlling roman blinds. To raise the blinds, simply pull the cord and once the blinds are at your preferred height you wind the cord around a cleat (or hook) on the window frame.

  2. Cord lock: this is similar to a cord and cleat, except instead of winding the cord around the cleat just tug the cord to the side to lock it. This cord lock is also seen in many Venetian blinds.

  3. Chain drive: this is the type of control you might be used to seeing on roller blinds. It’s a connected length of chain that you pull to either raise or lower the blinds.

If you’re installing multiple roman blinds for the same room, we recommend selecting “uniform” batten alignment when ordering. This will create a uniform look and ensure the panels line up (assuming the tops of your windows are all the same height).

If you don’t select this, we’ll choose the best location for each batten depending on the size of your window – but even if your windows are all the same size, this could vary slightly.

At DIYblinds we offer blockout roman blinds and light filtering roman blinds. They can be controlled using cord & cleat, chain drive.

Roman blinds are blinds that fold or pleat when raised. Each section is reinforced with a light weight batten to help maintain their structure.

To clean regularly dust with feather duster or brush attachment on vacuum.
