Gentle Daylight and Privacy

The Balmoral Armour Light Filtering Blind complements its blockout counterpart for cohesive styling across shared spaces. Crafted from 100% polyester and stiffened with acrylic, it diffuses natural light while maintaining daytime privacy. The fabric is 3,000mm wide, with a weight of 220gsm and thickness of 0.55mm. It has a visual light transmission of 39% and meets EN 410 and EN 14501 testing standards for solar performance. Rated with a Blue Wool Scale light fastness of ≥5 and flame retardant to the Building Code of Australia (Class 2 to 9), this fabric is practical for both residential and commercial environments. Best suited for roller, Roman, and panel blinds, and easy to maintain with light cleaning, it delivers functionality with an understated finish.

There are 4 ways you can control the way your roman blinds open and close. Just select your preferred method of control when you’re customising your roman blind.

  1. Cord and cleat: This is the most common and traditional way of controlling roman blinds. To raise the blinds, simply pull the cord and once the blinds are at your preferred height you wind the cord around a cleat (or hook) on the window frame.

  2. Cord lock: this is similar to a cord and cleat, except instead of winding the cord around the cleat just tug the cord to the side to lock it. This cord lock is also seen in many Venetian blinds.

  3. Chain drive: this is the type of control you might be used to seeing on roller blinds. It’s a connected length of chain that you pull to either raise or lower the blinds.

If you’re installing multiple roman blinds for the same room, we recommend selecting “uniform” batten alignment when ordering. This will create a uniform look and ensure the panels line up (assuming the tops of your windows are all the same height).

If you don’t select this, we’ll choose the best location for each batten depending on the size of your window – but even if your windows are all the same size, this could vary slightly.

At DIYblinds we offer blockout roman blinds and light filtering roman blinds. They can be controlled using cord & cleat, chain drive.

Roman blinds are blinds that fold or pleat when raised. Each section is reinforced with a light weight batten to help maintain their structure.

To clean regularly dust with feather duster or brush attachment on vacuum.
