Bay windows can be the hero of a room – elegant and stylish, they bring in light and make a statement. However, choosing window coverings for a bay or box window can be tricky; get it wrong and they can look cluttered. But get it right and they can elevate a room even further, giving a high-end, bespoke feel.

Curved curtains

Curved curtains – curtains that are hung on curved tracks – are the ultimate way to highlight the elegance of a bay, box or corner window. They’re also the ideal solution for covering obstructions that project out of your window such as bulky handles or frames.

Choose curved curtains with an S Fold finish to elongate period windows and highlight soft, structured folds. Ceiling-mounted curtains add drama and make your room feel more spacious and your windows appear larger. To make the most of period features in a room, opt for wall mount-placed curtains slightly under the height of traditional picture rails.

The DIY Blinds Way

At DIY Blinds, our sleek curved tracks are made to fit perfectly into 90-or 45-degree corners; we also offer bespoke curtains if the shape of your window is different. You can speak to one of our Design Consultants for a bespoke custom offline solution. You can choose to have your curved tracks fit inside or wrap around your corners. Plus, we make curtains up to 8 metres wide with a 4.2 metre drop, so they fit the biggest of windows.

Corner tracks

Having tracks meet each other in the corner of a window looks great, and they’re quick and easy to install. This configuration allows you to open your curtains from the corner. When you measure correctly and the tracks join perfectly, they look as though they're on one single track.

DIY Blinds recommends

Choose how you split your curtains around a bay window to suit both your window and your room. A centre split gives a more traditional look, while having your curtains at either side of your box or bay window can give a more modern feel.

Plantation Shutters

Plantation Shutters can provide the perfect solution for box, bay or corner windows. They allow total light control while still allowing a connection to the outside. DIY Blinds offers a range of panel layouts to exactly match your space, making the shutters functional as well giving a bespoke designer look.
